iPod touch How do you work kik on iPod touch?

So, I just downloaded the application "kik" on my iPod Touch, and I honestly don't know how to work it on my iTouch. Mostly because your iPod doesn't have it's own number, but that's what it asks for in the beginning. And I read about it, and apparently it's compatible with the iPod. Can anyone tell me a step-by step instruction on how do it? I'd really appreciate it, thank you!
