How does a contact that I never contact become a Favorite?

Using iOS7, all of a sudden, a contact that I NEVER call or message became one of my Favorites in my Contacts. How did this happen?

You have to select favorites. You accidentally selected that contact somehow.

You can take them off. Just swipe from right to left you'll see delete just hit that.

obviously you accidentally added it, and its not even a big deal. Just un favorite.

Seriously, if you never contact a contact, are they really a contact? But I'd agree with the others suggesting you accidentally selected it at some point. No biggie.

Could be for the purposes of being able to identify them if they do call/message/email you (even if you don't contact them yourself)? Maybe for the purposes of blocking them (in iOS 7)? Maybe just to keep the contact information for a "just in case" type of situation.
