Hey lets say i get out of my contract with ETF. Okay cool i have my 3G iPhone without a contract but activated. Now lets say that i need it replaced, how would they activate it without one? Do they put the 3G Sim card from the old iphone to the new one? Will it still activate without an active plan?

Sorry to bother you but what is ETF?

ETF-Early termination fee

an ETF is a fee that you pay to get out of a contract from ATT such as the iPhone 2 year contract.

This isn't exactly the same as your situation, but my at&t SIM with a blackberry data plan (i.e., no iphone plan) can activate my 3g everytime I restore.
