I purchased my daughter a 2019 13" MacBook Pro and it has pixels out on several spots on the screen. I spoke with Apple and they said I could do an in store exchange. My question is how does that exchange process work? Do I need to be there? I'm out of town and my wife wanted to take my daughter over to exchange it. She has the receipt but the debit card it was purchased with is with me so I didn't know if they would need that. Do they just swap them out or does the card it was purchased with need to be verified or anything? Thanks!

When I swapped a machine it was a even swap. They took my old machine and they gave me a new one. Took about 10 minutes. I had backed up all files and data, so just synced down when I got home. But I hear they can sync them in store if you don't have a backup.

The receipt is all they need. Unless the item was being returned for a refund, they do not need the original credit or debit card. They might also ask to see your wife's driver license.
