How does brightness effect battery life?

I usually keep my phone roughly at 15% brightness and keep it at auto.

I was just wondering how much brightness really effects battery life. If I put it on max brightness and on minimum, how much would the phone run in each scenario?

Has anyone ever tested this? Obviously the higher the brightness the more battery drainage, but just how much more?

To me it's one of the biggest difference makers, other than running GPS heavy apps.

Very poorly, but I still rock 100%. Looks damn nice though.

When I first got the phone, i set it at 50% brightness. Now, I keep it about 80% brightness. I haven't noticed much of a difference in battery life.
