how does e-mail come up on the lockscreen?

In the notifications center for ios 5do you need to make sure that e-mail is on fetch data for it to work

Currently I don't get my e-mail unless i go into the e-mail app...what settings need to be different for this to appear on the lockscreen?

i don't have ios 5 but was wondering this when it is out.

Mine is on push, but fetch will probably work. The phone sends it to the notification screen when its downloaded, so you would have to have one of those two selected.

it's turned off by default for some reason...

settings > notification center > mail
