How does iOS 4.3 run on an old iPhone 3G?

I tried 4.0 and it was unusably slow so I went to Cydia for MyWi.

I'd like to go back to 4.3 if it is fast enough on the old 3G phone. Anyone try it yet?

If its available for DL I'll end up with it in the next day or two... I always at least try them. I went back to 3.1.3 for a while. Then I heard they fixed 4.xx for the 3G and upgraded again. Still slower than i'd like but its useable at least...

there a thread a guy started ranting how mad he is at apple for not making it compatible on the 3G so sounds like it doesnt work at all

Look at the bottom. It will not work on a 3G. Period.

The hotspot feature is worthwhile. No more reason to get mywi or tetherme.

The 3Gs doesn't get the WiFi hotspot feature. Only the iPhone 4.*

I find home sharing very useful.

Which would be funny if they say it is limited to the 4 because of hardware -- my 3G does hotspot tethering just fine with Cydia and MyWi, nevermind the 3Gs.

Apple is a for profit company. All they want is your money. If they can limit old stuff and force you to get the new stuff they will.

Worth it for Home Sharing alone.

As someone who uses his iPhone around the house for browsing, Facebook, and iTunes, it's great to be able to lie in my bed at night and while my wife watches Jerseylicious on the television, I can plug in my headphones and access my entire iTunes library from the Mac downstairs.

3.1.3 to 4.2.1 3G

The only feature i need on iOS 4+ is the local notification! I guess Ill update to 4.2.1 this month.
