Does the 11 Pro Max still have a superior camera when compared to the 12 Pro (non-Max version)?

The camera of the 12 Pro is better in every aspect: better low-light performance due to faster aperture, Nightmode on all lenses, Nightmode portraits, LIDAR, Smart HDR 3, Dolby Vision video recording, ProRAW photos, A14 chip, etc...

The 11 (Pro / Max) still is a really great camera, but the 12 (Pro / Max) is just a big leap forward when it comes to features and versatility.

Night mode on super wide angle camera. Better low light performance thanks to A14 bionic and smart hdr 3 and lidar for better auto focus and 3D scanning.

Having said all this, I still think between 11 Pro Max and 12 Pro you wouldn’t see a lot of differences in normal conditions except a bit better dynamic range thanks to Smart HDR 3.

The difference between the 12 Pro Max and the 11 Pro Max will be even more significant due to the much larger sensor size in the wide angle camera!

It has the same sensor as the 11 pro, the only thing that changed is the f/ratio (1.6 vs 1.8) and one extra optical element to give it a total of 7 compared to the six element camera of the 11 pro. The 12 pro software is better, but the actual sensor as I mentioned is the same. Read:
