I run a podcast and we are one of the most active podcasts for our niche on the web. We've moved from the bottom of the 300 some podcasts to about 15 on Itunes search results list.
The frustrating thing is that among the 1-14 ahead of us, about 8 have been inactive for years, a few only have like 7 episodes available for download (whereas we have almost 100) and two of them don't have ANYTHING available for download. In fact, the #1 hit on Itunes for our type of podcast has only 10 episodes available and hasn't posting anything in 4 years.
I wonder, does anybody know how Itunes calculates its search result order? It seems really jacked up that an active podcast is below a show that does even have one item available for download.
Thanks!
