On the new MacBook Pro's, how are the icons managed if there are more than fit in the menu bar space right of the notch? As a test I kept adding icons, it seems like it can handle around 15 (depending on the width; some are wider than others), and around that number of icons I have seen at least 1 icon disappear - when I remove another icon it comes back. I have not been able to find a way to scroll the menu bar. I also see as you add them, the icons get smaller for awhile.

Are the icons scrollable if you have too many for the menu bar area right of the notch? Or do you just have to manage how many are up there that an icon does not disappear?

Thanks!

Thanks. So I assume then without Bartender there is no scrolling, or managing a larger number of icons on the menu bar?

I don’t know, personally - I’ve never had (or wanted) so many background processes running at the same time. I expect this would be a function of Monterey, though, so might be worth asking there if you’re not inclined to give Apple Support a call.

It works basically the same as it always has, whenever in the past there have been too many app menus it's always cut off the menu bar icons to save space. Bartender is your best bet, I expect at some point in the future 3rd party icons will be able to go into control centre!

I have moved all menu bar items except battery life into the control center. Apple prepared for this situation in advance.
I like this idea, so I have to do it one-by-one through System Prefs or App prefs, or is there an easier way to do it?

EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out!
