How does my old MBP compare?

Hey Everyone,

I have a mid 2009 C2D 2.66Ghz 15" MacBook Pro with 4GB RAM.

I'm looking into purchasing a new 13" i5 MacBook Air, probably the 1.7GHz. How will this compare to my current Macbook? Is the i5 that much better than the C2D and will the SSD HD help out?

At this point I'm pretty much only using my computer for scholarly activities- surfing the web, research, writing papers, presentations, storing my iTunes. I do some photo editing every so often.

I guess my main question is, will I be happy with the performance of the MBA?

In my experience it will probably be a touch faster if you are not excessively multi tasking. The i5 is much better than C2D (That is what I used to have as well). The SSD as well just makes the computer seem like it is flying.

I have been very happy with my Air as a older model 15" Pro replacement. I do not need the disk drive so that helps though.
