How does Notified Pro work?

I've been thinking about getting this app. Right now I use bitesms wil it becomes useless if I get notified pro? Been doing some reading and I know they don't work well with each other and I would have to disable bitesms default. How would I do that? Then there is also notified grip what does that add to notified pro?

edit Will I be able to swipe down on the status bar and get the list to drop down like this? without needing to change settings and or bitesms?
