How does Porting work? HELP!!!

Im outside at the Verizon store and someone here is telling me these things:
- I will have to pay my ETA to Sprint before signing contract with verizon.
- it will take a while to port my number like days.

Is this true???

Typically your ETF will be charged in a bill from Sprint AFTER you port your number (in a few weeks). You don't pay the ETF to Verizon.

If everything is working as it should, a port should take 20 minutes or less...

No one knows how fast things will be working later today. 🙂
