How do these compare? I have a 30" ACD running off an early 08 Mac Pro. It seems to functionally be a retina display, I cannot see individual pixels unless I get us really really closely.

Anybody go from that to a retina iMac? Any noticeable difference?

My primary use would be for photo editing.

Night and day. I came from a 30" Dell at 2560x1600 which is very similar to the 30" ACD. I can't watch it now. If I can't sell it I'll give it to my son. I tried it as a second monitor but it's awful to look at now.

Do you have a retina macbook? If you do, I'm surprised the ACD doesn't look pixelly to you.

If you can't see it, you can't see it. It's either a revelation, or no big deal, mostly depending on your eyes.

I don't own any other computers. I do have a retina iPad and iPhone.

When I looked at a retina iMac in the stroke, it looked a little bit better, didn't notice a huge difference.
