Maybe a dum question but, I Just wondered how does stereo signal (left and right) goes into a single connection as Im going 2 phono into my single input on my powerbook.
I'm guessing that this is a personal quest to learn a little more about how these connections work. I suggest taking a look at this article - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TRS_connector
A stereo signal involves a signal for the left channel, a signal for the right channel and a ground (to form a circuit between the two audio devices).
A TRS jack has three connections, tip, ring and sleeve (hence the name TRS). Left and right go down the tip and ring, and the sleeve carries the ground.
