Right now i have a base spec early 2013 15 inch rmbp. but im thinking of selling it because of 1. im going travelling and wouldnt mind something a little smaller and 2. because its starting to get some really bad ghosting and is out of warranty.

How does the new 13inch rmbp compare to the laptop i currently use?
I mainly use Office and Arcmap GIS and a little bit of light gaming, but have enjoyed some Final Cut Pro 10 in the past from my GoPro... how does the 13inch with Iris Graphics handle this?

Thanks guys.

If all you do is edit Gopro videos in FCPX you should be fine. Feature length films, maybe not.

Basic 1080p video is no problem in Final Cut Pro X. I edit video off my Canon EOS 60D which is a DSLR on my cMBP (2.5 GHz i5, 16 GB RAM, 120 GB Samsung 840 Evo) and it is perfectly fluid.
