I have never had a problem either. I don’t buy a watch every year so I will continue to buy the SS when I need a new watch. Love the SS

I had a SS AW, S3 or S4,I think. I wore it at work doing mechanical repairs on pharmaceutical machinery, and all the time outside of work. (Sometimes so took it off temporarily when I knew I was getting ready to do a repair in a tight area but put it back on after that,) I work out, run, etc and sweat quite a bit. The silver polished SS held up great. I always went with non-colored, non coated watches because I believe the “natural” base colors would show scratches and wear less than watches that had colors and coatings applied.

I have the aluminum Series 5 and it's never been a problem, so I can't imagine SS would be an issue at all. That said, I can't think of much I'd be doing in a regular gym that'd beat up my watch.

I’m thinking of it getting scraped up against dumbbells etc?

Not trying to sound patronizing here but I pointedly skip kettlebell snatches or overhead kettlebell presses to prevent banging the Watch. I have never had any problems with dumbbells, barbells, or any machines, but I’m also aware when using cable machines with the handles attached via carabiner; they can potentially contact watch face but I’ve never had damage to my sapphire watch crystals. I’ve been wearing my AW at the gym since S1 but I’ve always bought the models with sapphire crystals, no damage or scratches at all.

Same. Been wearing one (not SS model but aluminum) at the gym and doing through various workouts (bench press, dumbbell curls, tricep pulldowns using cable machine, farmers walk...etc.), never once had any equipment come close to touching the watch face or housing. Even grabbing dumbbells or plates from the rack it doesn't come close to hitting.

I would say get a bumper or cover for the watch if you are concerned about scuffing the watch.

Then again if you are working out with weights, the condition of your watch should be the least of your concerns.

yes, cheap snap-on covers like these should be perfect for protecting watch during exercise. Not good for constant wear, because they trap water and dust between screen and cover, but easy to snap on and off just during your workout.

I thought exactly the same thing, re kettlebells.

I’m sure they’d definitely make contact with the watch.

Thanks for all of your advice 👍.
