What kind of G3?

I have it on my 800Mhz G3 iBook and it runs perfectly fine. A little faster than Panther, even.
I have it on my Pismo and it runs great, too. Not as fast (no Quartz Extreme) but by all means usable.

Runs good on my G3 iBook with 900mhz and 640 MB ram... No ripple effects of course, but it's just as fast as it was with Panther... I also have a 1.25 GHZ eMac G4 with 1 GB of ram and the differences of the two running Tiger are the same as they were in Panther- if that makes sense- wasn't quite sure how to word that...lol...

I find Tiger runs much better than panther, so as long as you have 512mb plus of ram i'd upgrade,

My old computer is an iMac G3 600Mhz that I am reluctant to let go of. Tiger runs well on it. As good if not better than Panther I would say. Since I have a G5 iMac though, the G3 is neglected.

I have it on my G3 800mhz ibook with 648MB Ram it runs good but i really haven't played with it since the arrival of my dual Powermac so I can't say how it is compared to panther. The only thing i noticed was no ripple effect which is not a big anyway.

don't mean to hi-jack this thread, but i just 'inherited' a beige 266 g3 powermac tower. is there any way to get tiger on it, or is it better to just leave it at 10.2?

XPostFacto. You better up the video card, and the RAM to the max. And your gonna want a faster CPU. The Beiges could hardly run Jaguar, let alone Tiger.

Tiger is surprisingly useable on a Blue and White G3 300 stock with 512 MB of RAM. Better than Panther.

Tiger in my experience runs quite a bit better than panther, on my Mac (see sig) just stick a decent video card in the PCI slot and upgrade the RAM and you will have yourself a very capable computer to run Tiger. I'd reccomend a ATI Radeon 7000 mac edition and 512mb ram.

I just put Tiger on my trusty ole Blue & White 400MhZ it is very usable it has 512MB of ram it runs nice plays DVD's nice and smooth. Im thinking about a ZIF upgrade.

on my iMac DV 400, I find Tiger runs better than Panther, but only since 10.4.1 which sped up expose and dashboard significantly on that particular system. I recommend it :)

can we please have a sticky saying tiger runs well on a g3 at the top please?

there are too many of these treads

search is there for a reason people

There was a cool sticky "Installing Tiger sans DVD" which was really helpful, but then people started posting all kinds of unrelated crap in it

I hate Tiger on my ibook
It is slower than a slug race...
I did a clean install and it is crap
I am going back to panther for that computer

How much memory do you have on your iBook?

I put Tiger on my Clamshell iBook indigo I have the RAM maxed out and did a clean install and it runs fine. Faster then Panther I think. My Powerbook runs circles around it but my brother loves the old iBook.
