I notice some DVd rippers do not burn to .iso files, but to just folders that are video & audio ts?

is the .dvdmedia extension universal? should I choose this if iso is not offered?

DVD rippers do not burn, they rip (copy content off the DVD while circumventing the copy protection scheme).
Video DVDs consist of a VIDEO_TS and an AUDIO_TS folder, what the DVD ripper does is up to the DVD ripper, as some use the .dvdmedia extension to have a more simple package (consisting of the VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS folders) and some just make a 1:1 copy. I don't know about DVD rippers making an .iso file, since an .iso file is just an image of a DVD.

Maybe the following can help?

Thanks for those links, but #4 on how to copy back to a blank double layer disc part just mentions the apps that will do this, but does not tell me exactly which files or folders to burn to the blank disc.

once I am in burn or the other app, what files or folders do I burn?
