How durable are the crowns on the Apple Watches?

Curious to ask how well the crowns on the watches hold up with daily use…getting snagged on clothing, getting caught while sliding your arm in and out from backpack straps, etc?

No problem since Watch series 0.

Only had an S6 so not as old as others mentioned here but no issues at all with the crown and i'm probably a fair bit less careful with my watch than most. I work in a hands on IT team at a college going round under desks, behind screens on walls etc, i'm out biking\walking a fair bit in all weathers, wear it for swimming etc so it gets a fair bit of wear and tear and had no issues to date.

The only issue I've ever had is having it accidentally activate when putting my hand in my pocket to get something out and the top of the pocket presses against the digital crown. Minor annoyance sometimes, but that's all it is.
