long-time mac user who's looking to upgrade my 4yr old PB, 867mhz with 1.12MB ram but really struggling it seems. Tons of questions so...
1. In a ideal world, l would love to get an imac and keep my portable, is it a pain to maintain and sync 2machines?
Or should l get the MBPro and hand down my current machine - which needs fixing in any case - down to my niece?
2. Is it worth repairing my current machine as it needs a new keyboard (short circuit makes it play up intermittently), broken latch, and after this weeks visit to Mac genius bar, needs further internal work: chip responsible for battery charging is knackered - PB currently doesn't charge so has to be permanently plugged to mains.
3. All my software is PPC, key usage include Office, Adobe package, ie., photoshop+illustrator, iviewmedia pro, +other 3rd party stuff. Currently getting into video making - nothing serious; just personal fun projects.
Really can't afford to upgrade these to UB. Will l notice any performance dips or compatibility issues?
Lastly, how do you think a upgrade from a PB G4 867mhz to a standard MBpro will work out considering the software l have. Thanks for reading and suggestions!
