How easy to port numbers between prepaid services?

Anyone have experience porting a phone number from AT&T GoPhone to an MVNO like Straight Talk or Net10? What about transferring between MVNOs?

I've transferred numbers before between major carriers, but I don't know if there are any hitches when this is done by companies that don't control their own networks.

But look, a new number is just the perfect excuse to rid of those collectors, ex-, generally ppl that u rather not want to hear from! A refresh of your circles of friends if you will.

i ported my number from At&t to Boost Mobile, no problem. Ported from Boost Mobile to Virgin, all hell broke loose. Virgin back to AT&T GoPhone, smooth as butter.

YMMV, but it's mostly been smooth sailing for me.
