How far can you be from the iPhone for Siri to hear what you're saying?

Say I'm in a car an the phone is on my lap, if I push the button would Sirir be able to hear my voice?

Don't have an iPhone looking to get one.

Yes, siri will hear you in your lap. It helps tremendously to not have music playing, or any other loud noise in the background.

Then get one. Most places require one by law while driving. Not expensive.

In Texas they don't require one. They only Require one if your in a school zone at specific times then you can't text or use your phone while driving unless you have a bluetooth. But in certain cities you cant text and drive which is good like in my city they passed a law you can't text and drive but you can still use your phone to call people and drive without bluetooth.

The probably should, but that is for another thread.

Then no. I use Siri in my car all the time and with all the road noise, wind noise etc there's no chance of Siri hearing you on your lap. I have to raise the phone in front of my face to get an accurate response. This may work fine in a quiet office or your house but I've never been able to get her to accurately hear and interpret what I'm saying in the car without holding it close to me.

You will want to get a Bluetooth as already suggested as Siri will read you your message back to you when you're sending one, she will not do this if you're not on a bt.

How loud is your car? Siri works just fine for me in my lap or in the cupholder...
