How far in advance will apple announce this event?

In the past, how much time in advance has apple let the press know about a media event? Should we have heard about the September 9th event by now if it was going to happen? (thats if they have one)

usually around that time frame, gotta give people some time to get whereever its going to be, so if you dont hear anything by next friday, it aint happenin, not a big event like the last iMac and iPod release

Same. I can't wait! I'm going to be replacing my 15inch mbp with the 17inch one.
