How Long Did It Take For Your AppleCare Plus To Take Effect?

For those who bought AppleCare Plus for their iPhone: did you check your eligibility online and confirmed it?

I just bought mine today, a few days after I purchased my iPhone 5, checked it online but my warranty shows just the basic 1 year. I asked a couple of employees at the Apple Store and they said it will take a few hours to activate.

I know I might just be worrying about nothing, besides I can always check the status again tomorrow, but has anyone been on the same situation?
