How fast is a Mac Pro vs MB Pro?

Hello Guys, I don't know if I want to purchase a new Mac Pro or a Macbook Pro. I have a Powerbook G3 400 and It's ready time to say good bye to an old girlfriend of 6 years.

How fast is the Mac pro over the macbook pro? I am planning to buy the Dell 24" LCD for $650. So both way is good with me. So, what do you thing I should buy?

Well it really depends on what you need it for. Do you need the portability? The Mac Pro will be considerably faster than a MacBook Pro, so if you need power than the Mac Pro would be better.
