I thought I read it supports 1333MHz ram, but my buddy bought new RAM for his MBP which was 1600MHz. I installed it in mine to test and now it says my RAM is 1600MHz. It is running at 1600 or does the system spec just show the 1600 in the options and then run it really at 1333?

I think you answered your own question.. it supports 1600. Sandy Bridge spec supports higher, but it has been less than 100% stable in 2011 mbp from what I have seen.

It depends, Intel specs show it will support 1600 16GB on the early 2011 2.2 and higher.

The 2011 2.0 ghz only supports up to 1333 16 GB per intel specifications. I have read people putting in 1600 on 2.0 but the reality is, it is clocking down to 1333.

that is what I figured it was doing ... just wish there was a program to test it. I have tons on my PC to test it but not on mac lol
