went to costco a few days ago and got the 7plus, 128GB. When the phone first came out, i got my wife the 128GB version, but i was, at the time, going to get the 256GB version. I never upgrading at launch of the iPhone 7.

I have 2 weeks to return this to get the 256GB version if i decide. Just wondering how full everyones phone
is, to gauge real use. I had a Note 4 and had a total of 64GB and it was almost full. fairly confident that the 128GB will be good - but...

Got about 79GB left from 256GB model

265 apps
6,190 photos
80 videos
176 songs

73GB available on my 128. Only 155 songs downloaded, 210 (short) videos, 3,480 pics, 116 apps. honestly I am not even *that* heavy of a user, so I am surprised I have used like 50 gb! I browse a lot on my phone but don't take pictures/videos/download apps nearly as much as many people I know

111gb left on the 256gb 7+. I have all my iTunes library, over 13k pics, lots of videos and all the apps I need. Glad I went for the larger size, so I don't have to mess around deleting or choosing what I keep on it.

Even if a 512gb iPhone is released this year, 256gb will be enough for another year or two.

I have a 128gb, I only use 20-30gb at most.

I'm very used to having limited storage from switching between a 32gb Note 5 and a 16gb iPhone 6s, so when I got the 128 model I essentially got all this storage and no idea or habit to use it! Haha

I'm sure it will pay off as I keep it throughout the years though.

hmm - interesting to hear. My iTunes library is 134GB just in music, but no way would i put that much music on the phone. I might swap out and get the 256, as i am a photographer and put all my edited files on my phone (did that with my Note 5). The Adobe apps look pretty nice. Still getting used to iOS since being away since 2008

I currently have the 128 GB and only utilizing 12 GB of the space it provides. . Definitely do not feel the need to have the 256 GB. And since they don't offer a 32 GB in Jet Black, so 128 GB it is. I've had the 256 GB before but exchanged it for the 128 GB.

I just downsized back to the 7 from the plus. I now have a fresh 32GB iPhone 7 that should get me to the iPhone 8. Have all of my apps on it. Have 23.33 GB remaining. Should be fine, I stream all of my music and back up pics to Google photos regularly.

Next time I will get 256GB. I only got 128GB because I wanted it on launch day and then I was hoping to be able to swap it out in the 2 week return period but a 256GB model was not available in that period.

On my 7 plus I have 15.68 GB free

Photos = 12,480
Videos = 435
Songs = 2,496
Apps = 201

I also pay for 200GB of iCloud storage a month so my pictures are not even stored on my device.

I have about half free on my 128GB 7 Plus, but that mainly seems to be from iCloud Photo Library downloading itself locally. If they stayed in the cloud, in reality I only use about 30GB.

My 128GB 7 has only about 40GB used

Most of which is photos and videos (~19GB) rest are apps and app files

This fluctuates up to 8 GB depending on how much space OneNote books and Office 365 offline documents take up, and can go even higher when I have games installed (but iOS isn't really a game device for me)

Realistically speaking, real use differs among many people, so in a sense, for example, even if many people here would have over 32 GB of space used up, there can easily be many many more who have way less than that used up who aren't part of the forums. Ultimately it comes down to personal use and what one needs and wants to have on the phone.

thanks for the responses! I returned my 128GB phone, and got a jet black 256GB from Apple.

Im with you.
I always had 16GB models with no problems as far as storage and plenty of GB's left unused.
I dont know about an 8GB model though, that would be kinda tight.

I don't really download music. I think I have less then ten songs downloaded. All my video watching is on YouTube.

My space is mostly taken up by a select group of apps I use.

Same here, I dont have music or stored movies on mine either.
I stream music with pandora and other radio apps.
I have some apps that I use but if I record a video from my kids games then those tend to take up lots of space.
But I transfer them to my computer when I get home later so its still ok.
