I have a iphone 5s which is a bit battered now. I want to change the housing. Are the replacement housing kits any good in terms of quality ?

Does anyone have any experience of them ?

Apple does not sell parts, so any phone bodies you buy are necessarily clones. Whether they're any good would of course depend on where you're getting it.

You don't know what you are talking about.
Apple sells parts to their authorized repair centers worldwide and that's how genuine Apple parts end up on eBay.

Why Apple sells genuine parts to third party service centers? Because that's how Apple provides warranty service in countries which don't have Apple stores. In other words Apple contracts third party service centers to repair iPhones and sells them parts

To OP: as long as the casing you are buying is listed as genuine, it will be the exact same casing you would get on a brand new iPhone

Am thinking of buying a rear housing only but in silver. Anyone done a mod like that so that its silver on rear and black front. Would it look good ?

Gold on the back, black front =phone porn. Go for it.

I did see the original parts on eBay before but I chose to go for a cheaper housing as it was for a old iPhone 5 which I was going to sell. It was a good house but you could tell it wasn't the right one.
