How good/bad is the Intel integrated HD4000 Graphics card? ... I know MBA is not intended for gaming but how much worse would the gaming performance be compared to iMac 2007 with its AMD HD2600 discrete graphics?

I am hoping to get a notebook ... The all gorgeous 15.4" Retina MBP is unfor. too expensive esp in my country :( esp cos of a fat import tax ... So looking @ mba 13"

Thanx in advance :)

The 2011 macbook air's (HD3000) runs Left 4 Dead 2 flawlessly. No lag or stuttering. It can also play the Grand Theft Auto series perfectly fine too.

I'm curious on this as well. The only thing I want to play on it is Diablo 3, and as long as its smooth, I don't even care if everything is turned to low.

@rygamble ... thanks for the link ...

hmmm the article mentions -> [ ... Beware, that the HD Graphics 4000 is used with different clock speeds depending on the CPU model. The ULV CPUs (Core ix-3xx7M) for example feature lower clock speeds and cant maintain the Turbo frequency as good as the 35 - 55 Watt models. Therefore, the ULV version is about 30% slower on average... ] ...

any idea whats in the MBA?? ... would be the low Watt models?

Yes it's the ULV version, I think they run at 1200mhz if I remember correctly.

The below works fine for me in single player mode (these were auto set after installation). The only small downside is the mba is warm in my lap (which of course can be easily resolved).

Display: fullscreen
Resolution: 1280 x 800
Letterbox: off
Vertical Sync: off
Max Foreground FPS: on, 150
Max Background FPS: on, 8
Textures: high
Shadows: medium
Physics: high
Clutter density: medium
Anti-Aliasing: off
Low FX: off

What are the best setting for multiplayer and how does it run?
