How good is google desktop?

I've only used the desktop search element. I really was not pleased with it. It had a big performance impact, and it didn't work nearly as well as Spotlight or even other search engines on Linux like Tracker in Ubuntu.
 
thought as much, glad to see more programs are being put onto os x though.
