How good is macos Tahoe to find things, documents, text inside documents? how is your experiencewith the new overhauled spotlight?
i have no understanding whats new or how good it is. my first idea was to skip tahoe for security reasons. but i have more and more documents on my mac.

So far, it’s better (for me, at least) than spotlight search under 18.5. It consistently surfaces the document I’m looking for, which has been hit or miss for me under Sequoia for the last couple of point releases.

Around 18.2 or 18.3, after installing a beta release, Spotlight became completely useless and wouldn’t even show documents when I searched with the exact file name. This eventually fixed itself after a point release and several new beta builds, but it has never been as good as it was previously. No amount of rebuilding the spotlight database resolved it.

Tahoe has returned things to normal, is fast with its results, and doesn’t seem to show as many random and seemingly irrelevant results as I used to get. Of course, come beta 5 that could all break, so crossing my fingers as with each beta release.
