How good is the iPhone 4s mic used in a car mount.

Just wandering how good the 4s's mic is when used in a car mount? If it isn't' very good I was going to order something similar to the Belkin CarAudio Connect.

I don't have a 4S but have a friend that does and it's kind of hard to hear him in his car unless he's using his BT headset or the phone isn't in the mount. It's just too far away and there is too much road noise (even though his car is brand new and very quiet otherwise).

One time, while driving, had the 4S on my lap while carrying a conversation. Conversation went well. That's about the same distance as to where you would mount the iPhone. I did have the volume full blast though.
