50%, above that or below? I know some have it on auto brightness but to me I only use that when outside..as indoors it's just too dim. What do you all have it set up as and do you think it matters much battery life wise from say 40-60%?

Mine is

100% always. There are other ways to save your battery life without having to sacrifice it I would think. Like turning off GPS, Bluetooth, and other things in the background. Rooting + Changing your CPU governor too.

Mine's on full all the time. I'm close to a charger 90% of the time, so the lesser battery life isn't a deal breaker.

Plus I nearly get exactly 3hrs screen on time with a full brightness battery cycle. More than enough.

I trust auto-brightness to sort it for me. If the battery is low I'll manually turn it right down to 20% until I charge it again.

Thats pretty good...been tempted to move my brightness up higher too. Maybe 60%..with a removeable battery..the battery life isn't as big of an issue.

I adjust mine all the time. Switched from iOS to Android a few months ago and I still find it so utterly enjoyable to be able to switch the brightness level so fast, so I do it just because it's fun.

Outdoors though, I have it on 100% all the time. And even so it's pretty hard to see the screen (Note 2) :(

I have a GS3 and keep mine somewhere between 60-80, but make sure I can quick adjust it up to 100 when I'm outside.

I run with leaving a bunch of stuff on (bluetooth, gps, wifi, etc) and am used to just doing a battery swap around 4-5PM, no worrying about micro-managing settings or if I am close to a charger during the day.

I spent $26 on 2 Anker batteries (still haven't touched one) and I think about $8 on the charger.

Auto. It works. Keeps the screen dim in rooms so my eyes aren't staring at all that wasted light, and ramps up the brightness when i am outside. The only time i play with brightness slider is if it is too bright because almost all devices tend to be aggressive on the brighter side and sometimes the screen is way too bright to be comfortable.

Sometimes i do tend to override auto brightness if i am under 20% and not close to charger. My device tends to suck the battery dry within half an hour at that point if it stays on auto, and i can stretch it easily to an hour if i lower the brightness. Screen brightness eats batteries, the only thing that probably comes close is the cellular antenna if used continuously.

Full auto brightness? amazing how bright it is on auto brightness turned all the way up.

I am on CM 10.1. CM allows me to set the auto brightness values based on the ambient light.
