I have a Spreadsheet I start fresh every year and keep that spreadsheet running all year.

Immediately after I updated my 2013 rMBP to Mojave, Numbers would crash when I copied new lines down from the existing sheet or tried to add onto it. Basically if I modified anything other than an existing Cell, it would crash

This concern was duplicated across my 2013 rMBP, 2011 iMac, iPhone and iPad, with only the rMBP being updated. All other devices latest software with Ap store saying no needed updates

I know it was due to Mojave because I was entering data and using the spreadsheet on my iPhone, came home and entered data on my iMac and all was well. I then updated my rMBP, drug down on the sheet for more lines and the crashing was present.

Here is what fixed it.

I pulled the Spreadsheet from iCloud to my desktop — Then exported the sheet back to iCloud changing the name — Numbers then asked to update the sheet to a new version and all has been good since.
