hi - i just wanted to let others know this workaround i discovered.

I still have a Mac with OSX 10.6.8 Snow Leopard which came with iDVD v7.1 (and the rest of the iLife package) pre-installed on the internal drive.

I just drag copied (standard click and drag) the iDVD.app from the Applications folder to a USB drive. I also drag copied the iDVD Getting Started.app from the Library->Documentation->Applications->iDVD folder.

I then drag copied these 2 files to the same locations on my other Mac running OSX 10.7.2 Lion. I then double-clicked the iDVD v7.1 on this Mac and got an error message (as expected). So I then downloaded the iDVD7.1.2Update.dmg from the Apple website http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1414?viewlocale=us_US&locale=us_US

I then ran the updater - and to my amazement - it updated my old version (which I just drag copied from my older Mac, as explained above), and I am now running iDVD v7.1.2 (still the latest version as further support has been discontinued by Apple) on OSX 10.7.2 Lion!

I hope this helps someone else somewhere... :)

Update: btw, a similar drag copy method also worked for getting iWeb v3.0.4 onto my OSX 10.7.2 Lion mac...

Just found the following link which shows a slightly different way of doing this - and also your old Desktop Pictures onto a newer Mac.
