So apparently Discord channels now show up in Spotlight, which is pretty annoying. Hit a keyword that is common across channels of a discord server, and your Spotlight search gets filled up with entries under 'Other'.

How do I remove these, other than completely turning of the entire 'Other' section under Spotlight preferences, which is often convenient?

Discord has no settings for Spotlight in its Preferences, and I tried adding ~/Library/Application Support/Discord/ to the Spotlight exclusion list, but that had no effect.

Settings > Spotlight > Scroll to the bottom > Search Privacy > Add Discord.

If that doesn't work, remove it and then drag the application from your /Applications folder into the box. Let me know if it works.

Thank you for the suggestion, but this morning Discord results were actually filtered out of my Spotlight searches. I assume the addition of the Application Support folder did actually work, but that Spotlight had to take its time updating its index before it could take effect.

Case closed.
