Allright this might not surprise a lot of the experienced folks here but i got my first ever mac a 2014 Air last year... Post 10.10.3 the battery life had dropped from well over 12 hours on wifi to about half and even shorter in actual usage.

Tried all the tricks like smc, pram reset... removed adobe flash...checked activity monitor which had absolutely nothing that would indicate anything. Also drained the battery to zero and then charged up overnight multiple times.. No go.
Reinstalled osx from the internet through recovery and that didn't do anything either.

Finally bit the bullet and did a "Erase and Reinstall". I store practically all my stuff on various cloud services so the good ol' format was not that big of a deal.
Holy Cow !! The Air is back to the 12-13 hour battery life. Runs cool like it did before 10.10.3 as well. I did this whole jig on friday night and it's monday night now on the same charge. Am at 16%
So guys if nothing has worked, give this a go. This is assuming your battery health shows up as fine and nothing points towards a visit to Apple.

PS: This is my very first post here on macrumors but god knows i've been a lurker here for how many years :)
