How important is ESD safety

There is a lot of information about ESD for computers, but not so much for iPhone. Should I get a full ESD kit to work on my iPhone, or is just touching metal beforehand good enough?

Do you plan on doing enough work that an ESD kit is warranted?

Right now I'm just replacing the camera, but I don't know if I will ever need to do something like this again, either for my own phone or a friends.
