I have an Apple Watch Series 7 from last year and a brand new iPhone 14 Pro. I share my location with my wife through Find My Friends. Today I left house with just my LTE watch, while leaving the phone at home. When my wife used Find My Friends, it appeared that I was still at home. I assume it just tracks the iPhone 14 Pro.

Is there an "intelligent" mode where if my watch moves while my phone is laying still, it will use the watch for Find My Friends? And vice versa, if my watch is home charging and I go around with my phone, that it will use the phone for Find My Friends.

I assumed this was already the case, since if I go into Settings > Find My > My Location, it says that my location is tracked with "This device and cellular Apple Watches", see attached screenshot. So what am I doing wrong?

If you look at the bottom of the Find My app, you’ll see People / Devices / Items / Me.

As odd as this seems, People apparently only shows your phone, Devices shows all your iCloud devices, Items is AirTags and Me shows your iPhone and cellular watch.

I have her check Devices and see if it shows your watch as the device that’s away from home.

Seems a little strange they don’t put everything under one or two tabs.
