Hi, I have been using gmail accounts for many years and realized that the company hosing it is a data collection company. I have been using Apple products for many years but I don't recall I have created an email address yet. If I don't pay extra for iCloud services, how is Apple's free email account compared with gmail account? Does this free iCloud email account last forever? Does Apple increase the storage for free, like gmail, occasionally? How the email storage related to storage for photos and videos? Currently my iCloud is full but I will delete all the photos and videos in it.

These days I don't use a Mac. However, I still use iPhone and iPad along with my work PC. On non-Apple computers, is it as simple as going to a browser and login to my iCloud email account like I do for my gmail account?
