As per subject line, is the signal pretty much the same signal around the bay area, specifically around the peninsula?

Everyone I know in the Bay area is ditching At&t or already has a Verizon iPhone.

I was recently up there and while service wasn't completely horrible, it left much to be desired,

Thanks. Any additional feedback would be greatly appreciated.

I was in Pleasanton and I got 20mb download. In my house in Hercules I get 8-12mb. I used to get 3mb on 4g in house.

in santa clara / san jose. LTE works outside but not really indoors. Especially compared to my verizon ipad

its hella fast. i get upwards to 30 down anywhere outdoors and in my area.
indoors, less than 10.

verizon ftw.

here are some results I got here in the Newark/Fremont area over a 3 day span:

I'm in Walnut Creek and I find that the East Bay is really good in terms of speed. I tend to get around 25-40Mbps down and 10-20Mbps up. Where I don't get LTE, I get very good "4G" speeds, usually around 5-9Mbps down.

I'm in Fremont and get 35 down, 20 up on AT&T.
Comcast in my house is 30 down, 10 up.

so i'd say pretty damn good.

when the signal is strong and i'm not moving around, the speeds are fairly fast O(10-20) Mbit/s. however, i still have tons of drop outs and lag trying to do stuff on Caltrain. a slight improvement over 3G on my old iphone, but still very poor at times.

I'm getting 20mb+ in the south bay. In San Francisco, it's closer to 5-10megs (on LTE).
