We're talking about beta 1 which doesn't have any optimizations in place. The expectation is that battery life will suffer untli apple gets closer to the gold release.

I mean, I don't know how much is me using it more than normal or what, but from 7:30 AM till now I'm down to 63% on an iPhone 4S. Could very well be using it more though so take it with a grain of salt.

Understandably poor given that it's a first beta. ~5h of moderate screen on time on wifi vs 8 with 6.1.4

You really can't start asking this question until pushing close to the GM release, arguably not until the GM release at all.

I'm using iOS 7 b1 on iPhone 5.

As usual, I took a short walking trip, listening to music, battery was 100%.
After 1 hour, batter completely out!

This is stunning..

It could be that all these apps we use aren't written to interact with the new background and multitasking APIs and excessively drain the battery. Try closing out all the ones you don't want to leave running whenever you are done using them.

Last night my pone was heating up and draining battery, but its cause I updated from ios 6 I didn't restore, I went to settings and deleted all setting but not data and now I took it off the charger at 5:15am and have had about 2 hours of screen time and at 81 percent, its way better than I was expecting.

It feels like it is draining slightly faster than usual, but that could just be the fact that I am playing with it constantly.

Even if it is bad, that is to be expected.
