Hmmm...I hesitate to give a definitive answer. When we change iOS versions there's so much that goes on in the background in those first few days, that it can run through battery faster. Also...I'm spending a lot of time in photos and playing with my new lockscreen options, so that's a definitive change of usage pattern for me. :)

That being said, I had a noticeable hit to my battery life the first three or four days, to where I had to plug it in for at least a few minutes during the day. Then it improved to where I didn't have to do that...but it was dropping into the red by the end of the day. Now it's not doing that either. So...still improving. Previously, I would get through a day and have about 30-40 percent charge remaining.

is the device feeling any toastier to you?

It isn't in general use, BUT...my wife just got a new car a couple of weeks ago, and it has a wireless charging pad. When I tried it out, the phone was very warm when I picked it back up; I'd never had that before. But I'm pretty sure that's not due to iOS 16.

Why, are you having that issue?

Wireless charging causes your phone to warm up.
