Wondering how it handles daily tasks for MacOS. Seeing several online and thinking of picking one up to hold me over until they do a worthy revamp of the 13” MBP. Currently on windows. How does the 2017 i5 w/8GB handle as a daily driver? Any issues with the latest OS updates?

I have a 2016 m3 and a 2017 m3, and both of them handle daily tasks amazingly well.
