How Is Office Running on Parallels?

I tried to move my workflow over to a Studio but was running into some issues.
I need to install Windows and the Windows + Parallels installation went fine.
I have an old 2016 and 2019 Office key and everytime I tried to install it from the ISO/IMG, it would give me a mount error message.
Is the only way to get Office running on ARM going the subscription route?
Does this mean my old keys are now worthless?
 
I'm running Office 2016 just fine on my M1 MBA. Still running Monterey, though. Not sure if that matters.

EDIT: Sorry, just reread your post. You're trying to run Office under Windows. Oops - disregard the above. :)

Your ISO file sounds damaged. It should mount just fine.

No and yes.

No, you can run office‘s apps under MS Edge. It does work great, with little functions missing.

Yes, the old keys are for the previous versions. If you contact MS they will provide you a discount in the first year of submission.

Oh noooooooooo.
So the only way to run the office suite via actual apps and NOT browser is to go on the subscription model?
Well that's a dealbreaker.
Could that be the reason why I'm having issues "mounting" the install files for 2016 and 2019 installers?

No, you'd probably get a message that it's not for this PC if it were something like that, but now you have me totally confused about mounting the install files, could you be trying to mount a Mac version iso? and how are you trying to mount the file? What's the exact error?

That's what I thought as well but then I tried the install file on a actual Intel PC and it worked perfectly fine.
I have Parallels 18, installed Windows 11 through the Parallels splash screen. Windows installed fine.
Moved the install file that worked on the Intel PC onto a flash drive, plugged it in the Mac Studio and tried to install it on the Parallels Windows and got hit with a

"Sorry, there was a problem mounting the file"

Tried a fresh install of Windows 11 and still same error.
Tried installing using 2016 and 2019 Office installers (ISO) and same error for both.

Have you tried copying the install files from the flash drive to the local Win11 drive, and launching them from there? I've seen some programs on some "computers" get persnickety when it's not on the local drive, and the way Parallels does USB is pretty iffy as well.

Yep, same issue unfortunately. The iso just won’t mount to install the program.
