Hi, the touch screen of my IPP 12.9" does not function several times a day. Has anybody used Samsung Tab S6? How is it compared with iPad? Can I connect it to an external TV to watch TV?

Take video of it not functioning, get hold of SS and send it back.
I still use my Tab S2 but would like a newer one.

Even the Tab S6 Lite looks interesting (YouTube reviews) - nice that both come with a pen.

Having Dex and video out could be a draw to the S6 higher end unit.

The tab certainly couldn’t replace my 12.9 but for a pure media device i think it’s a good option. Plus the tab s7 and s7+ will come with 120hz displays

A family member wants to watch some dramas for free but that require flash. So I guess I need to buy a Samsung tablet.

Depends on what it is you're looking for. FWIW, I have an S5e and I have a love/hate relationship with it. I mostly consume media on my tablet, watch video and stuff, and the AMOLED display, lighter weight, more rectangular aspect (there's no value in the 3:2 aspect of the iPads for me) and expandable storage (I've thrown in a 512GB SD card in) are perfect for my needs. That said, I bought the bottom 4G model and it could do with an extra GB or 2 of RAM. Android for tablets isn't as good as iPadOS is. You can really see the difference in attention paid to it. The recent Android 10 update (only got it 6 months after my phone did 😒) has definitely helped but still, iPadOS overall I think is better/smoother. Then again, I've got a Snapdragon 670 in the S5e vs the 855 in the S6 and that'll make quite a difference too.

So going with an Android tablet can be a big plus or a big minus. As always, depends on what you're trying to do with it. For me the plusses definitely outweigh the minuses but that won't go for everyone.

As for streaming to a TV, I have a Samsung QLED and I can send video to it no problem. If you're referring to plugging it in directly, no idea. I've never tried it. Plugging in an external display (not a TV - computer display via HDMI to USB-C hub to Phone/tablet) though sends me through to DEX as I recall.

Flash is still a thing?

Apparently the S7 will have an LCD display with only the S7 plus having an OLED display.

Yes, unfortunately old people want to watch old videos. Those websites hosting such videos require flash.

If the LCD rumor is true, I'll definitely need to wait for reviews before buying. I have a Tab S3 and was looking to the Tab S7 for an upgrade this year...

Why S7 and plus still not available to purchase? No pricing info.

The S7+ looks decent but that spec at £999 is a backward step from last year; I'd be after the 256GB Storage and 8GB RAM / 5G model which isn't available yet - I can see that being £1100 + £200 for the keyboard; I'm not sure I see that value there to be honest given Samsung's poor support for anything beyond 2 years and a serious lack of good Android Tablet apps.

I'll be hanging onto my Note 10+ though!

I think the regular S7 at £619 is the best option.

It is here

£619 for the S7 and £799 for S7 plus with it being £999 for 5G Version.

Not available in Canada yet. No pricing information nor where to buy on Samsung Canada website.

From the keynote, it seems that with collaboration with Microsoft, the Tab 7 and Note combinations seem to have better integration than Apple's iPad Pro. Haven't used Samsung phone and tablet for a few years. How is the Android file system compared with the iOS 14? Any view on this?

The Tab 7 Plus is also lighter than iPad Pro. Has anybody used Samsung DEX? Is it better than iOS 14?

I'm concerned about the move from Super AMOLED to this TFT panel on the Tab S7 (my Tab S3 has a Super AMOLED). I'm not sure I'm comfortable going to the Plus to get the screen, it just seems too big for my uses.

This review seems to think the smaller S7 screen is gorgeous - https://www.techradar.com/reviews/samsung-galaxy-tab-s7

Interesting - they seem to think the only model available in the US will have 5G. I guess I'll grab another data-only SIM from Fi and I could use it anywhere...

Its subjective (DEX v iPadOS), the desktop mode is good but it doesn't get away from the fact that your still dealing with a limited amount of real Android Tablet apps, I personally also prefer a desktop grade web browser than the mobile Chrome / Samsung browsers for real work.

The note syncing looks decent but it's nothing that you can't do with the Microsoft Apps themselves, again personally I prefer using OneNote itself than Samsung Notes.

The sync kinda looks a bit like syncing other 3rd party apps with OneNote, you can do it but it's sent to OneNote as Read only effectively.

The file system is more straightforward on Android, internal storage and Micro SD and you manage them like you would on a PC.

It'll be interesting to see how much Microsoft still wants to play nice with Samsung once they launch their new Surface phones.

Does seem the Uk are getting better deals with storage and models than the US from this event

We are still getting S7 in WiFi version where for the we plus the US have to get it in 5G. The ultra for example we have 256GB standard while US starts at 128GB

Ah your not talking just about the Tab - but the Note - The Tab S7/7+ in the UK only gets 128GB and 6GB RAM

I read that only the S Plus has a 120Hz screen. How beneficial is that feature? When I had Note 2 and Note Pro 12.1, I didn’t notice any lag.

Can I also use the Tab S7 and S7 Plus as a phone?
