The low volume issue continues to bother me but i don't want to get a refurb or even a replacement from apple if the same problem persists. For those of you who have purchased the iphone in the last few weeks, how is the volume for calls on the speakerphone and earpiece?

Bought mine two weeks ago and the earpiece volume is definitely too low. Hopefully this is resolved in a software update.

Just got mine today, and the iPod sounds great through the speaker (better than I thought it would), however it does distort even when not right at the highest volume...

How is your call volume though. My ipod sound is great, it's just the call volumes suck.

iPhones purchased recently are no different than iPhones purchased on June 29th. Some say the call volume improved with one of the 2 updates, but others said that there was no discernible difference.
