Hello, supposing that I fully charge the MBA (2012 summer model, 2GHz i7 [u p to 3.2GHz under turbo boost], 8GB RAM, 512GB SSD) and use it to surf the web. How many hours can it last? Does it make any difference if I opt for the 255 SSD? How is the battery life if I use the MBA for other operations? Thanks.

That's going to depend on many things:
- screen brightness
- keyboard brightness
- what pages you are surfing

The size of the SSD and amount of RAM will not make any difference at all.

I would say the 7 hours apple mentions is fairly accurate for light use like browsing.

The CPU chip will though, although not by much.

The weaker, the longer.

You pretty much describe my 2012 MBA

and it got an honest 5-6 hours for me until I installed ML which dropped it considerably. Ars Technica reports that you lose about 38% battery life with ML vs Lion.
