Out of any smart phone? When they said that in the WWDC I was like wtf? Samsung S7, and Note 7 probably have the best with 4k resolution.

Resolution is only 1 small factor on how "good" a display is. And they're 2560 x 1440 Quad HD, nowhere near 4k.

Yeah it's like I need every day to watch at my phone screen with x10 zoom just to be happy with my 4532k resoultion. :)

4K on a mobile screen? wtf

apple are referring to the actual mobile screen, it has significant advancements similar to the iPad pro.

I'm fine with it still being 1080p, was slightly disappointed it isn't True Tone though.

Not the biggest fan of OLED for phones personally. Spectacular in the right conditions - had a Galaxy Tab 7.7" years ago with a SAMOLED+ display, was awesome - but still pretty lousy outside. Will have to suck it up next year I expect, assuming next iPhone is indeed OLED.

I think the OLED screens make everything look fake, it's like they went to much on the colors. The iPhone screen needs improvement though, I'm sure the 7 will be better but we will see how much better.

Yeah colours can look oversaturated with OLED, but I don't know if that's just down to Samsungs calibration. Apple has got steadily better with their calibration and I'd hope the colours would no longer be oversaturated if/when they enter the field.

That's just the (standard) setting chosen by samsung. They do this on purpose to impress people with the colors. But you can switch it to "normal" mode.

4K is pointless on an iPhone display. Unless you're a fraction of an inch away from it and can somehow focus your eyes from there you won't see any difference. You want the camera to be able to capture 4K, but putting that many pixels in the screen gives you zero return. The more interesting upgrades in screen tech have to do with wider color gamut. So-called "HDR displays," which is what the iPhone is (kind of) getting.

Yep, and even in normal mode, the colors still pop more than on an iPhone. Part of the reason is that blacks are pure blacks since the pixel just turns totally off. The Samsung screens really are quite amazing. There's a reason Apple is rumors to be moving to OLED next year.

The latest rumors are pointing more toward micro LED, but the idea is the same: deeper blacks. More accurate colors. Wider spectrum displayed.

I thought it was true tone. Rumours and announcements getting muddle up in my head lol

We all know the Galaxy screens are better than iPhone screens. I'm a big Apple fanboy I can admit but facts are facts.

While i'm pretty sure it is still true, it's not yet a fact. Noone has tested it yet ;)

Well, although they never said it was True Tone, I still kind of assumed (stupidly) that it was, until I read that it definitely wasn't. Bah.

Not a huge deal, it's definitely nice on the iPP, but a very subtle "nice" rather than "omg can't live without it".
